Matias a 16 year old boy who lives in a tough neighborhood in the suburbs of Mexico City, has the skills and mindset to become a professional soccer player. His only problem, he doesn't own a pair of soccer shoes. This is no small matter, as he and his mother barely survive month to month with her income as a seamstress. Ruben, an ex-soccer player, approaches Matias and proposes to train him and even helps him get a job. Ruben was in jail and only wishes the best for his son and fights to get Matias on the right path before it's too late.
